Professional Background

Paulette Markel has been in business for over 30 years with 15 years in international business. She spent over four years living and working in Scotland, establishing a business that provided strategic sales and management programs, market research and planning.

Ms. Markel has 30 years of sales, marketing, and project management with organizations such as Metropolitan Community College, Royal Bank of Scotland, Danisco, Aldi Foods, Top Innovation, JP Morgan, City of Olathe, State Department  - International Visitors Council, Object Technology, Growth Opportunity Connection, Butler Manufacturing and many others.

 

Experience

While in Scotland, Paulette obtained her MBA and served as an adjunct professor for Napier University. Upon her return to the United States, she worked for Sprint’s international division. Paulette has conducted large international projects for Sprint involving multicultural teams. She created and headed a team that developed international training and diversity programs for Sprint. 

Ms. Markel has negotiated and won complex international contracts with organizations in other countries such as: Israel, France, China, Germany, South America and others. Paulette has created inter-company processes to improve the communication between teams from different countries. She worked as international conflict management specialist at Sprint Headquarters in Kansas City.

As Director of Workplace Diversity Solutions for Harmony NCCJ, her responsibilities included business development, working with diversity councils to create cultural diversity programs for organizations and facilitation of those programs. Her areas of responsibility included servicing enterprise, government, non-profit and education.
