Steven Jeffery is an Instructor and Senior Consultant specializing in Information Technology Procurement. In this role, Steve leverages his unique expertise in integrating people, process and technology to achieve goals for clients.
A dynamic instructor, Steve has taught numerous seminars throughout North America and Europe. Steve’s expertise has been sought by many industry leaders, including Nike, Microsoft, Citibank, Allstate Corporation, and Kerr-McGee, as well as the U.S. Army. Steve has designed and taught coursework addressing some of today’s most pressing issues, such as contract negotiation, procurement best practices, project management and leadership skills development.
As an expert negotiator, Steve has successfully managed procurement efforts for numerous high profile and Fortune 500 companies, including ING Americas, Exelon Corporation, Kellogg Company, Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and American Family Insurance. He is particularly adept at understanding clients’ business processes and applying the appropriate technical solution to facilitate their business needs. He has successfully negotiated several multi-million dollar contracts for desktop hardware and software, telecommunications hardware and services, and network equipment and outsourcing services.

Experience
Prior to becoming a Senior Consultant, Steve was based in Chicago as Vice President of Vendor Relations for ABN AMRO, an international financial institution consistently ranked in the world’s top ten. A skilled team leader, Steve guided a team of professionals who contributed to the firm’s documented cost savings of over $36 million. He directed desktop hardware and software contract negotiations and procurement, including supply chain management, and was a key principal in the firm’s e-commerce task force to develop a solid IT purchasing solution.
Previously, Steve served as Assistant Vice President of Personal Computing Services for Citicorp Credit Card Services, where he established the personal computing services operations department and provided strategic management services for LAN installations, relocations, and training throughout North and South America and Europe. At INET, Inc. in Bethesda, MD, Steve managed the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s telecommunications help desk and was responsible for the IRS’s Integrated Network Operations Management Systems Asset Configuration database.
Education and Certifications
Steve earned a Master of Business Administration degree, with honors, from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Reading Education from Towson State University in Towson, MD. Also, Steve served as an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering, instructing graduate level courses in IT project management. Steve is a Certified Technology Procurement Executive by the Caucus Association of Technology Procurement Professionals (CTPE) and a Certified Trainer by the International Board of Certified Trainers (CT).
