Professional Background
Larry Checco is a “branding” expert and highly sought-after speaker and trainer on branding issues. He is the author of Branding for Success: A Roadmap for Raising the Visibility and Value of Your Nonprofit Organization and has published many articles on the topic of branding.
Larry Checco’s articles on branding have been published by GuideStar, the National Housing Institute’s Shelterforce magazine and appear on a number of websites, including the Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy (New School University), KnowledgePlex and the Michigan State University library system.
Experience
In his more than 25 years of communications experience, Mr. Checco has helped to raise the brand visibility, fundraising capabilities, recruitment efforts, employee commitment levels, and the impact of some of the nation’s most well-known organizations and government agencies, including the American Red Cross, National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Department of Energy, and Neighborhood Reinvestment (now NeighborWorks America®).
Larry is a faculty member of the NeighborWorks® Training Institute, and an adjunct of Southern New Hampshire University. He also speaks, and conducts courses and workshops, on branding for organizations such as the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Maryland Association of Nonprofits and others.
Education
Larry holds a degree in economics from Syracuse University, as well as an MA in journalism and public affairs from American University.
